Bristol traffic LIVE: Disruption after several crashes and traffic light failure
There were several crashes across Bristol today (April 1).
Collisions were reported in Brentry and Yate. The outage of traffic lights is also causing delays at Avonmouth.
Traffic slows down on several axes due to works. There are delays on the A38 Malago Road in Bedminster which is closed due to long-term roadworks between B3120 St John’s Lane and Lombard Street. Traffic and travel site Inrix says: ‘The A38 will only be southbound until summer 2024.’

Temporary traffic lights are also causing delays on other main roads, including along the A38 Cheltenham Road and on Salcombe Road in Knowle.
Construction work is also underway on the A432 badminton road in South Gloucestershire as the council widens cycle lanes along the road.
During this time, there is no through traffic allowed on Union Street in Bristol city centre.
The AA’s live traffic feed reads: “No through traffic is permitted on Union Street Westbound from The Horsefair to A38 Bridewell Street. Only buses, bicycles and taxis may now cross this section which is now a bus door.”
