Free places on the Keighley Traffic Management Course

FREE places are offered on a training course for those responsible for managing traffic at community events.

Six places on the one-day course – at Riddlesden St Mary’s Primary School on Saturday 21 May – are funded by Keighley Big Local.

The Traffic Management for Community Events course will cover legislation, costs and enforcement, a traffic management plan and requirements, and risk assessment.

Those who meet the required standard will receive a Certificate of Competence and a Competency Identity Card from the Lantra Certification Body.

Shaun O’Hare of Keighley Big Local says: “This training is for you if you need to prove your ability to handle traffic for community events or renew your Lantra skills card.

“Our offer is aimed at organizers or those responsible for traffic management at community events in the Keighley East area and in particular the Keighley Big Local area.

“The training is for those who work with the local authority to organize galas and village fairs where duties include guiding vehicles, maintaining emergency lanes, posting signs and notices and pedestrian control management.”

The remaining six places on the course will be charged at £110 per trainee.
