GL announces VoIP Air Traffic Management test solutions

GAITHERSBURG, Maryland, – GL Communications Inc. spoke to the press about its Air Traffic Management (ATM) test solutions that facilitate the transition of technology and services from traditional analog / TDM systems to IP voice communications systems.

“Traditional ATM is migrating from analog / TDM voice communications and control to IP. Migration moves to improved, optimized and integrated communications test beds. The ATM core network and all of its underlying entities (CWP / VCS, GRS, radio gateways and loggers) can be accurately tested for timing, performance and functionality. Next-generation GL test tools for ATM provide signaling and traffic simulation to ED-137 standards, monitor QoS to ED-138, and provide critical network delay and voice quality metrics ” .

“Our ED-137 and ED-138 VoIP test tools have been widely welcomed by global air navigation service providers and VCS / Radio / Gateway / Recorder companies, who have found them to be essential tools during the development phase, functionality tests, performance tests, factory acceptance test phases, deployment phase and “field” testing.

“Measuring delay in the hybrid ATM network is essential and necessary to accurately measure the delay introduced by each element of the network as events propagate from end to end. Recognition, capture, time stamping and correlation of events at analog, TDM and IP interfaces are required. Delay measurements should be performed multiple times to ensure that the device and network under test are operating as expected consistently over time ”.

“To counter this problem, GL has developed a TM-ATM (Air Traffic Management Synchronization Measurements) test suite to accurately simulate ATM network endpoints and provide critical timing measurements for various types of traffic. delays in signaling and voice transmission through the network.
