Jamshedpur Durga Puja: DC examines preparation, focuses on cleanliness, circulation system, crowd control
The control room will be occupied by civic organizations for rapid redress of grievances
Jamshedpur, September 10: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav reviewed the preparation for Durga Puja during a meeting at the district collector on Saturday.
During the meeting, officials from municipal agencies talked about cleaning near puja pandals and immersion ghats, barricades, streetlights, repairing masthead lights, traffic system, crowd control, IEC activity, etc. The meeting was also attended by Tata Steel and TSUISL.
The Deputy District Commissioner informed that the administration will soon hold a meeting with central Durga Puja committees and thana-wise peace committees and brief them on the feelings of the administration regarding the administrative preparations and expected cooperation in the maintenance of law and order during the festivity. Municipal officials were instructed that in addition to the district-level control room, the relevant municipal body also operates the control room.
Based on the information received, the delegated personnel in the control room would make sure to resolve the issues/complaints immediately by notifying the senior officers. Before the start of the puja, instructions were given for on-site inspection of high mast lights installed at various places and repair of street lamps, fogging, bleaching, regular cleaning of road drains.
Necessary guidelines were also given regarding the cleanliness of the puja pandal premises, supply of drinking water, etc.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the use of plastic is totally prohibited in the district, so as part of the IEC activity, posters should be placed in the pandals to sensitize people about the absence of plastic and drug addiction .
Installation of large garbage cans, cleaning of river ghats for immersion, availability of PA system, diver, installation of signage related to danger zones, etc. During this discussion took place regarding crowd control and free flowing traffic system.
The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that if the construction work has been carried out by making slight deviations in the adopted map, then immediate action must be taken against the person concerned. She led the vigilance team of municipal organs for a surprise inspection of the ongoing construction work against the handed over card.
Along with this, instructions have been given to ensure that people who deviate from the map do not benefit from a water-electricity connection under any circumstances. The deputy commissioner made it clear that notice should be given to those who deviate from the map and also ordered them to break up illegal construction work, warn of administrative action for disobeying the order.
