Signs and traffic management services officer job with Leicestershire County Council

Job Purpose: To work as part of a team to provide the best value for money customer focused service throughout Leicestershire and occasionally surrounding counties. You will provide an excellent temporary traffic management signage delivery and collection service for the highway delivery workforce. Your work will also support the delivery of road maintenance, construction, forestry and street lighting activities where stop/go signs are required to direct the flow of traffic, and where Hi-Ab is required to facilitate the delivery and collection of materials. You are responsible for the safe temporary traffic management arrangements on the site.

The activities included in this specification are: distribution and collection of panels, distribution and collection of materials and waste using the Hi Ab; Helping gangs with stop/go and other traffic management solutions

The Traffic Management and Signage Services Operator will assume responsibility for the installation and removal of signs from the site of detour routes, and assist with temporary traffic management requirements for engaged gangs in other activities for the delivery of highways, as indicated.

The Signaling and Traffic Management Services Operator will report to the depot for a daily briefing and debriefing by the supervisor, and when the situation warrants, may be designated as responsible to take responsibility for the achievement of objectives performance and compliance with health rules. and safety requirements during daily activities. It is expected that this will require more time to report, and will therefore be compensated by an agreed overtime payment.

They will ensure that health and safety guidelines are adhered to, such as wearing the correct PPE, and temporary traffic management rules if on site, as well as observing correct practices when use of specialized machinery and materials.
