Spancil Hill Fair Traffic Management Plan

Gardaí has ​​put in place a traffic management plan for the Spancilhill fair taking place today.

Outlining details of the plan, Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Triona Brooks said: ‘A one way traffic system will be in place near Spancil Hill on the R325 Ennis/Tulla Rd. 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Traffic between Ennis and Tulla will continue as normal throughout the day.

Traffic coming from Tulla to Ennis will be diverted left at Norrie Henchy’s Bar

Continue following ‘Detour Ahead’ signs for Ennis to Quin Road, Lynch’s Cross and/or

Continue following the Detour signs ahead for the M18 motorway through Lynches Cross and exiting at the Killoo East junction.

There will be 4 car parks – for vehicles not towing trailers/possession of animals:

Kelly’s Car Park/Field – non-tracting vehicles only (from Ennis direction)

Duggan’s car park (pub) – vehicles without trailers/tractors only (from Ennis)

McGrath car park – vehicles without trailers/tractors only (from Tulla direction)

Carolan’s Car Park – non-tractor vehicles only (from Crusheen/Gort).

Fair-Field and McDonagh’s fields for vehicles towing horses/trucks only etc.

Customers parking in car parks 1, 2 and 3 will need to use the R352 for pedestrian access to the Fair – for safety reasons, pedestrians are asked to use the right side of the road towards Tulla.

Customers with animals in horse trailers/boxes etc. will only be permitted to park on the fairgrounds or in the land directly opposite the fairgrounds – no horses are to be taken from the trailers near Spancilhill except for the two designated parking lots.

It will be strictly forbidden to park vehicles except in the car parks listed above. Vehicles that park in violation of no-parking zones will be ticketed and/or towed.
